Meet Ken Bailey
Ken Bailey is a master luthier and teacher who has helped students ages 15 to 92 build their own high-quality guitars since 2003. From traditional acoustics and classical guitars to custom specialty instruments, Ken brings the experience and passion to help each builder create something truly their own.
Weeklong Guitar-Building Immersion
Build your own custom dreadnought acoustic guitar during an intensive five-day workshop. Premium pre-milled components allow you to spend more time learning the skilled, hands-on parts of lutherie, including body assembly, scalloped bracing, neck shaping, fretwork, setup, finishing, and inlay.
You’ll work with premium Sitka spruce and Honduran mahogany, then leave with a beautiful, great-sounding guitar you built yourself.
Two-Week Guitar-Building Journey
For the builder who wants to go deeper, this two-week experience takes you from raw materials to a finished, handmade dreadnought acoustic guitar. No pre-milled parts. No previous woodworking experience required.
Ken Bailey provides one-on-one guidance through body construction, top tuning, bracing, neck shaping, fret installation and dressing, final setup, and personalized finishing details. Specialized tools and materials are provided, and complimentary RV lodging is included so you can stay focused on the build.
